N8man inspired me last week with his thread. So I had to give it another go, since my first time the breading fell off when you picked up the chicken. This was much more successful.

Picked up some House Autry and doctored it up a little bit more with some Lawry's and Simply Marvelous Peppered Cow. I also soakedthe thighs in buttermilk and Franks Red Hot (I put that s*** on everything)

Put them in the fridge and went and got the kettle ready. I threw some lump into the chimney and fired it up.

I threw the lump on some used coals and a piece of maple. Left the lid open for about 10 mins to get the fire burning clean and then put the top on.

Once it came up to a steady temp of 375 i opened it up and threw the chicken on.

While it cooked I got my sides ready. I did some garlic mashed potatos, chicken gravy.

The asparageus was just olive oil, then toss some turbinado sugar and kosher salt. Then grilled them directly over the coals as the chicken finished cooking.

Thanks for the inspiration N8man. This dinner rocked!

That came our great!
I was very happy with it. I am definitely going to use this method over the batter method that I tried before.

Very nice! Chicken looks great and that tomato/cuke/onion salad looks delicious. :thumb:
It was the perfect hot weather salad. Eating it was nice and refreshing. Although this has got to be the first time on this forum that someone commented about a salad. :pound:

Looks like you nailed it this time
It feels like I did. The flavor was spot on. Texture was spot on. Crust stayed on and the smoke was just the right amount. My roommates and I throughly enjoyed it.

Brother that looks amazing!!! Can't wait to try this. Will be trying the turbinado sugar on the asparagus also. Great cook!! :eusa_clap

That looks great! I seen n8s recent thread on this and added it to my list of things to try.I really gotta try this soon that looks delicious

That looks amazing. Have read about/seen the kettle fried chicken here, but haven't tried it yet. I'll need to rectify that....soon!

I think you hit a home run with that chicken! It looks great!

Thanks, it was at the very least a ground rule double.

Looks Awesome!

Thanks.

Fabtastic grub , great work!!

Thanks bucc. I need to cook some of the dishes that you have posted using lamb. I haven't ever done lamb before.

That looks amazing. Have read about/seen the kettle fried chicken here, but haven't tried it yet. I'll need to rectify that....soon!

I would highly recommend giving kettle fried chicken a try. It hit the spot of regular fried chicken for me and it is better for me.

Wow, great job. Everything looks amazing.

Thanks. My roommates didn't say a word till all the food was done. So I thikn they liked it!

I have to try that, you did that dish justice, :thumb: I'm intrigued in your Strawberry vinaigrette , never heard of it until now.

Very nice. I've been wanting to do this for a while. You've inspired me. Well done

The chicken looks AWAsome! Love me some thighs, and will have to try this out soon. But what really got my attention was the cuke and onion, tomato salad. The strawberry vinaigrette dressing sounds delicious. Did you make it from scratch or was it a commercial blend? My favorite salad when available, dinning out.

Blessings,
