Necessity...invention!

Well necessity is the mother of invention. I needed a light, strong rack to move a 100 pound hog in, and more importantly out, of my cooker this weekend. My welder friend is on vacation so this is what I came up with.

Seriously, nice work. I'm assuming that's aluminum strap and "L"s?

Yes, all aluminum. I'll post some pictures when I get the hog on there and when it comes out of the cooker. The weather is supposed to be great here on Saturday, so it should be lots of fun!
 
Also consider aluminum fencing. An outside perimeter of pipe and then inside the screen. Pricewise I don't which would be best, but the result very similar!
 
That's sweet.

I've been thinking of one made of expanded metal and some re-bar.
