So i fired up the OTG with the Stok grates installed, to see how they worked. I did Bratwurst burgers again as we really like them

I bought the Stok grates at Cabela's. I used Stubbs natural briquets for the first time, i like them they get HOT!! I started not even a full chimney and once going i put them in the baskets and closed the lid. I came out with the food and the lid thermo was over 500deg this was with all the vents open, closed the bottom vent to about 1/2 open. Ok enough chitchat and onto the pictures, sorry no plated pictures

Looks great. I almost forgot about the Stok grills are they still in business, man that was a real flash in the pan a few summers ago.
They had a good size display with grates and inserts for the middle of the grate.

I just bought some o' those brat burgers. I see them in my futures as work day lunches right after the Petit Jean Bologna runs out in a couple of days.

Ron, I am partial to brat burgers myself. First time I had them was when me and my KA sausage stuffer wasn't seeing eye to eye on how to do things and the KA won out. It is a shame when ya get beat by a machine.. Nice looking grill though.

Seems like an oxymoron, a bratwurst burger, especially the first few times you have them. They turn out great and work well when you are having a mixture of brats and burgers.

I have never cooked a brat burger. Do you buy the meat or mix it yourself?

I far prefer brat patties to brats :). I just fired up some Stubbs for the first time in a weber chimney, it seemed really smoky til the chimney was almost all lit.....no offensive stench to the smoke though :). had a Cabelas gift card so just ordered up the Stok cast iron grate. Looked for one last summer at Lowes and they do not Stok them :).

Some porn that resulted from the thread the OP posted, mine came in yesterday. Decided to season them, and the smell of that fine roasting crisco inspired me to not waste that KBB so I tossed a few frozen Angus patties on there, the light was coming from the wrong angle so poor picture, but you get the idea :).

Sargento pepper co-jack cheese...any longer on there and the bottoms would have been burnt, nice crisp with no burnt taste :).

Kinda weird looking at that picture of the center grate installed, they stole that part from some existing system where the grate has a hinge like action ??

Is there maybe a handle used to lift out the center insert...by that tab? Maybe?
