New Contest: Smithville, MO April 12-13

Just learned of this one today that's right here in my hometown. April 12-13, The Best Damn BBQ Contest at Smithville Lake. It's the first year contest, KCBS sanctioned and State Championship.

It's just 20 miles north of Downtown KC, and it's in a beautiful setting at the Smith's Fork Campground, which is just below the dam at Smithville Lake.

Sponsored by the Masonic Temple here in town, so it should be a first rate contest.

Thanks for the "heads up"... Guess I hadn't read the schedule in the Bullsheet. I'll definitely wander up that way (I'm in the Northland)... Just to look and sniff. :wink:

Heck, shirknwrk, I live here, I knew there was something on the docket, but I didn't know until today it was planned. Hope you can make it. It should be a good contest. Great location.

Thank you very much for cluing in the other Brethren about The Best Dam BBQ Contest at Smithville Lake.

I sent in my judges application on March 2nd.

I also thanked Troy Whitten for adding another competition to the greater Kansas City Northland.

This definitely promises to be a GREAT contest.
