Weber-Jumbo-Joe-Extension.jpg

I built a barrel extension for the Weber Jumbo Joe a few weeks ago. The idea came from Larry Watkins over at TWVB.

I used a 10 foot roll of 10 inch aluminum flashing and a rivet gun to hold everything together.

The total cost (flashing, rivets, rivet gun) was under $30. Once I figured out how to use a rivet gun the project took about ten minutes. Easy, peasy!

There isn't that much room under the dome on the Jumbo so the extra space will come in handy. I've used this once so far during some experiments baking bread and it works great.

Love it love it love it! :clap2:

BluDawg,

Apologies, I did not see the other thread! Credit all the way around!

All I know is that I never would have thought of it.

That's awesome! Are you going to hang a grate/diffuser in it for smoking or just use it for extra head space when needed?

Super jealous. Guess I need to look for some aluminum. I have rivets and a gun leftover from a job this summer, and I'm more than ready to add some height to my Jumbo Joe.
