Eric, just noticed your post. To be clear I own Yoder Smokers so my comments may be a bit biased. There are numerous offset pit makers so how does a company who is only a few years old differentiate themsleves? The answer, start with 1/4" material and pay strict attention to detail in the fit, weld & finishing of the pit. Our pits are the traditional low and slow design where the heat comes in below the grate level and exits the pit well above the grate level which enhances smoke flow. I have attached afew pics of a triple door we just delivered to a restaraunt in SoCal.
