Arizona teams went to Utah this weekend and took 1, 2. Otis and the Bird, azbarbeque.com Team of the Year and Rhythm-n-Que, reigning California ToY, took GC and RGC at Rock n Ribs over the weekend. They, along with Blake's BBQ are headed to Lynchburg in October to participate in the JACK! RnQ are also in the KCBS ToY top 10. WAY TO GO, VINCE AND ALEXA AND FAMILY!
If any of you are out here in the Southwest, come see what Arizona barbeque events are all about. The First Annual Prescott BBQ Days is Sept. 11, 12. For more info, see http://www.prescottbbqdays.com/ or http://www.azbarbeque.com/forums/prescott-bbq-days/

In November, in the desert west of Phoenix/Surprise, come to the 3rd Annual Sun City Festival BBQ Cook-off & Balloon Festival, in Sun City Festival. Why they call the community "Festival" is beyond me, but it is part of their name...More info, come see us at http://www.azbarbeque.com/forums/2009-november-pulte-cook-off/ Cancer Sucks Chicago BBQ is the defending champs, and they are also going to the Jack on that win. Arizona...KC West!!

I'll be wearing my AZbarbeque shirt at the Jack. But I thought we were going to be keeping Arizona our little secret???!!! lol

It's well worth coming out! Just get ready to get your lunch jhanded to ya... Them boys can cook.

Since the team list for Mesquite is such a big secret and all, we'll have to just wait for Arlie to let us know if we're going to be there :mrgreen:

I wonder why it has to be such a big secret. Kinda silly, if you ask me.
 
Start a roll call to see who won't respond. Flush them out! lol

Maybe it's to increase ticket sales? Yeah, that's the ticket...
 
We're (wife and I) considering coming out to the contest in November. It would have to be a fly in, so my first task is to find a cooker that we can borrow.
 
Them Ohio City Boys are in, QUAU is in, I know of another team from IL that is going to be there......but, I dont know of any other teams besides you Steph that is going to be there.....I posted some on the AZBBQ website, and California BBQ Assn website and got a few other team names, but, not the 40+ yet.......
But, not too sure, but, if the guys from Smack Your Daddy are correct on their website they are being filmed, and not sure if all of the teams that they talked about on their site are going to be there......that is about all I know....well, besodes the fact that I fly out next Wednesday......and set up on Thursday....
 
Quau is not going. He's going to Milwaukee.

Yes, they are filming, Tuffy, Trigg, Slap Yo Daddy, Myron Mixon, Jamie Geer, Jim Tabbs daughter, and somebody else are being filmed. Great for competition barbeque.

Kyle and I fly in Thursday afternoon, Bob O and his peeps will be driving in Thursday afternoon as well. Probably won't set up til Friday though.

There's your answer right there. Anytime somebody invokes the magic word "TV", things start to get weird.

I think we are in, but not sure either. I will wait to see our name on the list.

I had not talked to him since Boston Hills, I guess he looked at the drive and weighed it out....
I am looking forward to it, I know that much....regardless of who shows, it is going to be fun meeting up with some teams that are west coasters...
