Of course any lump will work, and KJ lump is good. It's more dense than BGE lump. KJ lump is great for smoking, and BGE lump is better for grilling IMO. Both both will do both duties well.

You better be wearing some green socks and only use your BGE lump. Otherwise you might see how much better performing the KJ is and be converted!
