Anyone one have experience with the Lonestar horizontal offset, either 24 or 30 inch model. Video’s on their website are very impressive, quality looks first class and they state temperatures are very adjustable to provide various temps or steady temps side to side and vertically. Appears to be a large capacity for small footprint. Just wondering if anyone that has experience can comment on any likes or dislikes compared to a typical barrel type smoker traditional or reverse flow. I have experience with a backyard Jambo and a Shirley fab, both excellent cookers, regret selling my Shirley but at the time I had other more pressing needs and selling allowed me to finish up a home project. Now I’m interested in another stick burner and the Lonestar horizontal presently is my first choice unless a Shirley fab model comes available in the sales section of the brethren site. I normally cook old school with burn barrel and shovel coals direct fire and actually prefer that style but I enjoyed cooking on the Shirley, very easy to maintain temps, used very little wood and flavor was excellent, especially ribs. Lonestar prices and quality appear to be very reasonable as well as build times.
