Does it look like it's too light? Anyone have experience with the brand?

Cute might be the right word. Looking at the welds (they are pretty "chunky") I'm guessing it must be about 11 gage (1/8" steel), not really all that bad and the firebox does look in proportion to the cook chamber. I think if I was gonna clean the burning splits out of the firebox I would use a tool with a longer handle.

At the 1:33 mark - he starts firing up the firebox while still attached to the trailer hitch... directly behind the truck's rear bumper.

Am not comfortable lighting up so close to the truck's fuel tank. No thank you.

I noticed those welds too -- on the amateurish side --but I'm no welder. Presumbably a chunky weld will rust and weaken faster?

I like the size. 98% of my cooking is for 4 people. I'm looking for something small, he's asking $450 for these.

What are you looking to do with a new cooker? Have you looked at the 26" Weber?

I know for a fact after reading this forum that the 22.5 weber makes all the sense in the world for a guy like me. However a weber will never satiate my pyromania which is about half the fun for me. I'm attracted to offsets like a moth to flame. I have at least decided against the Home Depot Brinkman type offsets.
I bought a Char-Broil grill/smoker off CL for $40 and love it -- looks like an offset but minus the firebox. Yes it's junk (though the thermometer isn't bad amazingly) .So now I want something similar, but with thicker metal and better sealing and engineering, yet I don't want something that need a monster truck to tow. If it's small, I know I'll use it year 'round.

It was posted on the 12th so it might still be there. I think it took me all of 1 minute to find it.

You never know where people are going to post stuff. I just put "bbq smoker" in the search on the first page and it will search all of for sale.

Does anyone else think those tires are a little close to the fire box or is it insulated

it cant be insulated. Look how discolored the paint on the firebox is after only one cook

Nice gimmick for a tailgate once in a while, but nothing I would want.

Nice concept but no way I'm firing a smoker box next to the bumper of my truck.

But that's a Chevy so I'm sure he's use to stuff falling off. <Sorry, that was too easy>

Here is one for $250.

This is a good smoker.

That's a Brinkmann Cimarron Deluxe. I just restored a non-Deluxe model and I really like it, 1/4" steel. If you buy it have someone there to help you load and unload it as it's very heavy for it's size. Mine was much more rusty than this one, had it sand blasted then painted. Looks like brand new, maybe better?

I have to know, did you contact the seller?
It was love at first site. Bought it today. Gonna pick it up tomorrow. Poor guy hated getting rid of it -- said it's bullet proof. He said his fav thing is that it holds a temp for hours and hours. It's about 12 years old.
So what's the story on rust, does it affect the flavor? Owner said he'd hi pressure wash it periodically and then bbq paint.

I'll put some more pics up of the innards once I get it home.
