Inspired by Sammy and Stargate, I decided I would make an attempt at smoking some meatloaf. Coincidentally, it seemed like a good time to clean out the fridge a bit. I had some onions, carrots, and sweet potatoes that I needed to use up. To this I added a pound or so of beef, some salsa, a big handful of oats, an egg, and salt and pepper. The Weber wanted to go at 290 today so I just let it do its thing for about 90 minutes. Put some BBQ sauce on and let it go for about 10 more and pulled at an IT of 155.

Very interesting. Never would have thought to add in sweet potatoes and carrots in a loaf. Looks like it turned out good though!
 
Such a simple thing that I have never smoked myself :crazy:. Nice pics.
 
Nice - thanks for the pics! Curious - what's the texture/consistency of the oats? Do you even notice them?
