Unfortunately Sam passed away yesterday just a few months after Diane passed away from cancer.

This is from his daughter's post on another forum:

i am posting this in memory of my dad. Sam Grogan died tonight of a heart attack. He is now in heaven with mom! please pray for our family as this is overwhelming.
 
Sam and Diane were the best of us. A tremendous loss and shock for us all.

There is no filling the void Sam leaves behind, but we can take comfort in knowing that he went out being with people who loved him, doing what he loved to do. No doubt he and Diane are organizing a potluck in heaven already.
 
It's interesting to think back and see how all things happen for a reason...Yesterday morning in Rome, the generator that carried all f the BBQ teams ran out of gas. Since Sam had a generator on his trailer, Big Jim served breakfast out of his truck beside SAMs trailer, so in a way, almost all of the teams got to eat one last meal with Sam and Just-Fer-Fun. Then right after the competition, Ms. D asked The Lord to call him home.
