is Blowin Smoke!
Back a little while ago I had a negative experience with Webers customer service. It was minor so I didnt get too bent out of shape or make a big deal of it. Then comes last week when Firecraft was having a sale. I recently grabbed an older model Q200 to use for tailgating and such. They had a CI griddle for sale and it seemed like a nice add on. I got ahold of Weber to make sure that that griddle would work with my older model. I was assured it would so I purchased it. Once I got it I noticed my Q200 has a one piece grate. This was a half griddle for use in the newer Q2000 that have a 2 piece grate. When I responded to customer service he told me to "Set it on top of the grate" I questioned that asking how it would stay in place. He told me "Its heavy enough that it wont move on the grate" Well, you guys know that a flat griddle on a CI grate is going to move. Not to mention the lid wouldnt shut properly. I again contacted customer service and explained the situation. I was told that I was given wrong information and they will be sending me our a new split grate system to retro fit my older model into a newer one.
I have no issue with someone making a mistake. Were humans, it happens. I am glad to see Weber do whatever was needed to fix that mistake.
