Hey!!! Who's cookin this one??!!! Its Greg's birthday and we're lookin to hang out with a lot of brethren...

I'm not cooking but I can tell ya the 'lunch-limo' is full of peeps travelling to Brooklyn for Grillin' On The Bay. Me, Gary, Sully, Bev and Sandy are coming in on Friday night so's we can be there early in the a.m. to get the party started.

I love this event! Good times, great people, and even better... a worthy cause!

This event is a benefit for St. Mark's School, PLUS the chili contest is open to EVERYONE... you don't have to be on a team that's entered, you can be a judge or a rep or just someone in the area who makes awesome chili! The chili is judged by the public, which is always interesting. This event is in its 5th year I believe, plus there is beer and some food for sale as well.

Come on Brethren... support your local events!!!!
There is still room for teams and judges!
Follow the link above or go to nebs.org for contact info...

I hope to see y'all there!

I may cook this one now that the daughters birthday party isn't until the next weekend, I think I maybe doing too many comps this year!

Do any of you NEBS folks know if veggies are allowed in stuffings? According to the rules the answer is no but that seems kind of odd if grains, meat, fruit and nuts are?

Does anyone know for certain if the optional RUB Rapid Fire Challenge is going on and what that entails? Should I just bring extra spices for an all protein entry?

Jeremiah and I will be cooking as Heavy Metal Beach Bum Barbecue.

Did you contact the organizer? I'd suggest dropping him an email. I know that last years 'surprise' category was steak from La Frieda's. I don't know if that helps at all.
