I want to grill pizza tonight but don't have a pizza stone. What do people use instead, if anything, which would still work? Thanks!

I've put pizza crust directly on the grates, then flip, add sauce and cheese, then pull off when the bottom is done.

as above - here's how i do it without a stone -

I don't use a stone.

I don't double cook my crust.

I simply make the pie directly on the grate (easier than trying to transfer it to the grate) and cook it over direct coals. My cooker is a vertical cooker, so I can move the pie up and down as needed.

My wife has gotten really good at making crust and pizza on the cooker is a nice treat.

You can also use a Cast iron skillet. Makes for a incredible deep dish pizza. As for pizza directly on the grill, no stone ... I like to do the cook-then-flip method for the dough also but I add some EVOO to the dough. Just a light brushing...

I cook mine right on the grill. Indirect until the cheese is melted and move it over direct heat to brown the crust.
