Hi,

I'm setting up the website for the 2008 Battle of the BBQ Brethren and I was thinking that I might as well go to the source (competitors) and see what you guys WANT to see on a site for a competition.

I usually visit other sites to compare (and I will do so again), but I thought I should see what you, the user would like.

So go ahead, give me your opinions. Maybe you couldn't care less. Maybe everyone is missing the boat and their site should include XX. Maybe you saw something on one site that was helpful, but you haven's seen it since.

Hopefully we can get some good suggestions that will help all event organizers.

Thanks!

Eric

One thing that I wish all contest web sites would include is an updated list of registered teams so I can see who else is going to be there.

My "Wish list" would be:

Easy and logical navigation around the site with no "Flash" and all of that.

Mapping info to the site.

Full, complete, and accurate info about the event details to include electrical power availability, water availability, sanitation, and any personal comfort items like showers and restrooms. Honesty would be nice here.

On-line registration to include CC and Pay-Pal capability!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Basically, just be businesslike with full and complete info and I will be a happy camper.

I'd like to see:
- Contest categories
- Who's competing
- Who's vending
- What music and "non BBQ attractions" will be there for the general public
- Admission fee for the general public
- Registration forms for competing and for judging
- Nearby hotels (ideally an event rate at one of the hotels)
- Parking info
- Maps

What the...

Did you just hijack my thread?!?!

Seriously, if you didn't have the worlds best first name, there would be Trouble (note the capital 'T').
