Well I got the butt trimmed and 1 hr low boil in water/apple juice/rub mixture. then wiped off with paper towels and applied rub and let it goo up for about an hour while I prepped smoker and got up to temp. Decided to go with my 22.5" Kettle with my SmokyNador 3.o and a mix of KBB, True Cue Cl;earance Lump and Hickory Chunkc. Kettle hit 290 so on went da butt. Gonna try to maintain 300*. :biggrin1:

Coming upto Temp not there yet and not good smoke yet.....

Did you inject the rub so it didn't wash off in the boil?
 
Rub was After the boil but the boil had rub in it. :cool:

Pork Soup went down the sink drain.......
 
1.5 hrs in - rotated my Butt..........Kettle is holding pretty steady 300-308*

No Ribs Just Butt- I boil my Ribs mid cook in Aluminum Foil and Apple Juice right on the Smoker.......:wink: 2-1.5-1

Actually, I think that would be braising, not boiling.
