That's gotta suck. Get a perfect 180 in chicken and come in second. 3 180's in 1 comp. Those are some really high scores.

Congrats to all! Still trying to figure what went wrong with ribs. Tickled with the two first and the 180 in brisket though!

It is a head scratcher at this point. The only thing I can figure was after trying three ribs one was slightly underdone. We did get hammered on tenderness.

That's a bummer! You guys will get them back, I have no doubt.

You think it may have been the batch of ribs you bought?

I would like to think so, but we started cooking ribs on a different smoker and the temp fell like a rock 3/4 of the way into the rib cook. I really wish I had more time to cook them a little longer, but we were just out of time. They have been on a slide downhill since Greenwood. I will say that taking them off the smoker with the pork and brisket really helped out though. Having to open the lid to add ribs does have an effect.

Man everyone sure thought you guys had it wrapped up. Tough break for sure, been there and done that myself. Congrats on the other 3 calls!
 
Tough Group of Cook Teams

Big congrats to the top 10 and the other FLBBQ brothers riding out to Bentonville. Sandbagging Bubba:) 1. Bub-Ba-Q - 697.1426, 2. Warren Co. Pork Choppers - 697.1424, 3. Everglades Seasoning BBQ - 696.5710...I seem to keep a handle on that 3rd place thing. It was a close contests :) we were .5716 out of Grand!!! I felt that we had a real good cook but tried to remain humble and for good reason. The huge scores were unreal! You know you’re in a mean crowd when the 10th place guy LJ puts up a (690)!!!
