I've seen somewhere on this site about smoking with plum wood but I am assuming this is the plum as in the kind you buy at the grocery store. I don't know about the rest of the country but in the Midwest wild plum grows like crazy on fence lines and in road side ditches. The trunks of these bushes would make the perfect size for smoking, 2-4" in diameter. If anyone has experience with this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Chuck

Plum is in the same family as cherry. It should be OK. I would suggest burning some and seeing what sort of smell & smoke you get from it.

It is a mild semi-sweet smoke..I used Wild Plum for the whole year last year on my Kingsford Kettle, and with no regrets...As with any of the woods you smoke with use it in moderation..Or until you get the hang of just how much wood will please your taste...I recomend it
