Cool setup not too much has changed. Proven design.

I really loved the old P. Mechanics magazines compared to the present ones.
Lots of cool home projects like the one you just posted.

Love it. Including the probably galvanized "sheetmetal" firebox. :-D

Very cool indeed, might even try to build it. sans the galvanized & asbestos lined firebox...

Too cool!! I can wait to see who's going to be the first to makie one of these!!

You don't have to worry about the galvinized metal, because the asbestos kept it from burning.Asbestos was a popular heat insulater in those days. I don't guess we'll ever know how well these cookers worked back then, because everyone who built and used it are All Dead!!

My favorite PM issue featured "Build Your Own Hovercraft". ;) Lawnmower engines and all.

I also recommend applying a few coats of lead based paint and letting your kids nibble on the paint till it starts to chip off.
Look at the pic......that dude's a 50's stud. Has his wife, mistress, and mom over for a cook out. Pair of brass cojones on that dude! Or maybe it's his wife, mistress, and his cougar.

The first item on the basic accessories is a chef's hat.... I know y'all wear one, right?
