Well, I finally opened the last of the original bags of HDD tonight for a tri tip. I got several of them in the charity auction a while back. Now it can be had every day but these bags were special as I was one of the few to have it for a while. Our delicious friend is now resting. soon will be consumed! Thanks Oakridge! Put a very light Agave glaze on at the end as it was searing (reverse) which gives it a sweet and hot taste that I like.

Looks real good.

I've never even seen a tri tip in real life. To my knowledge, no one carries them around here.
 
Mmmm... "California brisket" as I call it-- my favorite. Beautiful specimen, Corky, way to go! Agave glaze sounds most intriguing to me... have never tried that. :grin:
 
Just got my first bag of HDD and this looks like a good first cook with it. I live in CA for a bit and fell in love with Tri-tip, but it is a little harder to find here in KS.

Looks great!
 
I feel a bit sentimental opening the last original bag of HDD.

Jeeez, Corky. You're going to make me tear up... sniff, sniff... LOL! :thumb:
