I have an akorn and love it. I say get the akorn and if you're not happy with it get a ceramic after you save up for it. By the way, you'll be happy with the akorn, trust me. If you don't leave it out in the weather it will surely last a long time. I bought it because I waited for a craigslist deal on a ceramic cooker for more than 6 months with no luck. Regardless of what you hear, crazy deals on ceramic cookers are rare. Get the akorn.....you can always return it if you're not happy.
