Propane tank build question

I have a tank, 39" in diameter, and 5'9" bell end to bell end. The tube is 4'3". My thoughts are to build a large WSM type smoker for my large cooks. The walls are 3/16" and I want all the elements of a WSM except have a side door instead of a lid.

Has anyone attempted this?

In my mind, I should get the convection and stability from a WSM, just a larger scale.
