Anyone here gonna be at Steelville this weekend judging or competing?

It'll be our first comp for the year. Been so busy at work haven't had time to think about it. Better start pulling the gear out tonight!

We finally placed!

Third contest and we finally placed in a KCBS category (we've placed in Anything Butt and Sauce prior).

5th place in brisket. Some pretty miserable scores otherwise, although our chicken was almost straight 8s which was only good for 17th. Non KCBS judges are idiots. You should never get a 9 and a 4 on presentation on the same card. Ridiculous.

To tired now to run down all the results. I believe there were a few Brethren teams on site.

Despite the bonehead judges, this contest was incredible. Anyone looking for something in Illinois or near St. Louis put this on your schedule. The organizers were phenomenal.
