Another breakfast while camping.
I started the wood burning on the tractor rim first, brined the pork chops in salt water until the fire was ready (about 45 minutes to an hour).

seasoned the brined chops with pepper, dipped in an egg/milk bath and dredged in flour.

As the chops brown I set them on the low heat side of the fire to keep warm.

The chickenfried chops stay crisp and catch a bit of smoke while hanging out.

When the last of the chops are fried I make skillet gravy with the drippings...

I add flour, milk and seasonings... then simmer until thick and bubbly..

It's one of my favorite campfire breakfasts. The chops take on a nice smoky flavor. :)

Thanks for looking!

Those chops look amazing. I love chops for breakfast. I am going to have to try your campfire techniques it just looks like a fun way to cook.

Everything about that post totally rocks! I'd love to eat that then spend the rest of the day doing nuthin'. Except maybe thinking about the next meal. :thumb:

Thanks MisterChrister! I'm pretty sure chicken fried anything is good. :-D

Yes please, looks good enough to eat.
Why is it called chicken fried?
Titch, I think the coating is similar to fried chicken coating. It's used on chicken fried steaks too. Thanks Titch!

Daggnabbit Jeanie!
Excellent job as usual. I hope you caught a couple of fish too while being at the lake?

Thanks Mike! I caught a few. Not many but enough to make me happy.

Jeanie, my friend, are you homeless? You seem to be spending all your time camping. NTTAWWT. :) I kid, I kid.

Seriously, a great looking meal and beautiful setting. The only thing missing is me. :)

Thanks for posting another awesome cook.

Now that would be about as perfect a camping breakfast as you could get, absolutely outstanding. For me it might be a toss up if there were some fresh grilled trout in there:eusa_clap, but that is off the hook good lookin' plate right there!!!
