Received my pit barrel cooker on Friday and decided to fire it up this afternoon before this spring snow storm hit. Split a 5lb chicken in half, rubbed it all over with Slap Yo Daddy Chicken Rub and let em marinate for 4 hrs...

Put the hooks in em and followed the PBC directions (including the use of lighter fluid...gasp!!!), hanged the chicken halves and proceeded to watch the NCAA tournament for an hour and a half (no peeking)...

After Ohio State nearly gave me a heart attack, I pulled em and checked the internal temp...breast was 168 and thigh was 182...

After resting for 15 minutes, the chicken was super-moist and had excellent flavor. I could not be happier with the cooker and the SYD chicken rub. Will be using this method for chicken again very soon.

Looks Delicious. I want to try that rub. All I've been using is the one that came w/ the PBC or Yardbird rub
