Babbling Farker
Any one have one? How do you like it? How long does a 20# bag of pellets last vs 20# of charcoal IE long cooks.
Can you grill and also do low n slow?
Thanx

If part of your goal is to grill over high heat with the same unit, then Traeger is probably not the best solution... not really a high heat unit.
A ceramic cooker like a BGE, Primo etc.. is better suited for high heat and low n slow.
If you want pellet cooker for grilling, consider the new Fast Eddy Grill..
i like how 20 lbs of pellets at 225F will last 40 hours. that is only 19$ for a bag.
I dont think i could get 20lbs of charcoal to last 40 hours
I have a Traeger and love it.
I have a UDS and love it
I have a WSM (well actually 2 of them) and love it
There's a reason most of us have more than one type of smoker. It's because we want to cook different ways. And different smokers work differently.
I love how ribs come out on my traeger. But there's nothing better than a pork butt on the WSM.

I'm with you on that pellet consumption. 1 lb per hour on 220 degrees when it is decent weather. Winter requires about twice that much.I got the Country smoker 570 and love it, I pay $13 a bag for Treager pellets but there is no way I get 40 hrs out of a bag, usually use around a Lb an hr. I don't like grilling on it, got the Kettle or Gasser for that, But turns out great que with a minimum of effort, just make sure the hopper is loaded and your good.
I roasted a 24 LB Turkey for last Thanksgiving on it and everyone loved it, I think the pellet cookers really shine for roasting @ 325, I love the flavor it gives to Prime Rib, Pork Loin, Turkey, chicken,
Had mine for almost a year now and one of the best purchases I've ever made.
Was planning on buying a Treager, but when I was researching, found the Country Smoker and glad I did
