 I keep hearing about all the different kinds of fantastic rubs that are available from various venders and I’d like to try some. I would just send off for some of the recommended ones; but, I can’t take hot spices. Anything beyond mild is usually too hot for me. So with this limitation in mind, what rubs would you recommend?

Thanks
Ron

I use Klose chicken rub on all my bbq, sometimes I just use salt and pepper.

I don't know if you like to try making one yourself but here is a basic rub that you can alter the amount of heat to your tastes..I'm sure that there are plenty of better rubs out there...but this one is simple and ok...

1/4 cup paprika
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons blackpepper(coarse ground)
3 Tablespoons coarse salt(kosher)
1 Tablespoon hickory smoked salt(or more coarse salt)
2 Teaspooon garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 Teaspoons celery seeds
1 Teaspoon cayenne pepper

What has been mentioned above, plus Big Brother Smoke's Simply Marvelous Sweet and Spicy Rub. I use Todd's Dirt www.toddsdirt.com on just about everything except ice cream...
