Has anyone used Hickory Wood Saw Dust? If you have used it what were the results?

Saw dust for what purpose? Smoking in what kind of pit? Need a whole lot more of information than that generic question.

i've used the chainsawed chips/dust in my sfb & verticals. i do my sawing over a 5 gal bucket. works fine for me-smells like hickory.

Blues,

I thought of doing that, but was always afraid of the chain oil contaminating the chips/dust. I thought of using a circular saw, but that may be way to risky for the appendages....

Sawdust is highly combustible.
If you throw a little into a fire watch out.
You can burn sawdust if it is piled, will burn slowly and smoke heavily.
It is compressed and used as pellets in several smokers.

i do this w/ my electric chainsaw & haven't noticed any oil contaminating it-of course that thing is usually pretty gunked up that the oily stuff sticks in the saw & clean chips pass through.
