Brief Review: Maverick ET-732 - Black is Beautiful!

I just got a white one and will be christening it tomorrow with some beef ribs , andouille sausages and ABTs on my UDS.
Thanks for posting the review!

I just received my black one today, had a perfectly good white one until the chocolate lab in my avatar decided to eat it the last cook I did...I really like the black tho..

Yep! Had an ET73 that went bad and picked up a brand new black 732! That is smart thinking on their part.

I just got the black one the day before thanksgiving and i love it! I do think that it might be off tho, i gotta test the probes in some boiling water...

One cook down and I love it. It's so handy to see the grill and meat temp. Where do you guys store your Maverick when not in use?

Can they monitor more than one pit at a time?

Thanks,

G

I too got a black one after my Rottie put a hurtin on my white receiver because an alarm was going off .

Can they monitor more than one pit at a time?

Thanks,

G

Yes if you don't need to monitor you food. You can just plug in another pit probe on the food side. Both are calibrated at 500+ degs. You'll have to order another pit probe though. I ordered the 6ft wire ones for $20 instead of the stock size.

How accurate would this be when it's below freezing outside? No experience with these before..

I would think the biggest issue when it comes to outside temperature would be battery life. Most electronic components these days can operate quite well in temperature extremes. The operational environment range is usually listed somewhere near the back of the manual.

Now if I was wanting to cook outside in sub-freezing temps I would make sure the battery(ies) were fresh.

I used mine last weekend to cook a whole hog in 20 degree weather and it worked great

Thanks for the review. I really need to pick up one of these and the black is nice looking.
