Hey there everyone. I have been fielding a lot of questions about if we are going to have the KO-CO again.

The long and short of it is we are trying. I will be able to speak more to it on Wednesday evening but for right now we have changed the location and the date.

The only site we have been able to procur is in Florissant, Mo. and the date will be Mother's day weekend.

A lot has happened in the last six months to necessitate the move and we think it will be best for everyone once we get all the details straightened out.

The only drawback so far i have seen is we are moving to a grass field instead of a parking lot. We are also moving from April to May so hopefully that wont matter too much.

A lot of you have asked over the years abut finding a way to put at least a week between Washington and my conetst, well i have done it.

Like i said, look for more details come Wednesday evening. Of course it all be unofficial until the BOD meeting on Feb. 8.

Thanks for the update Greg. I had said I wanted to compete this year, and I do, but I laready have a pretty full May, so it would be difficult. Whatever happened to March, where you had the KO-CO its first year? Too early for some in STL? As far as I'm concerned NoCo is NoCo, but a few ideas if you're still looking, have you checked with the Casinos? The Queen hosted an MBN comp in 2003, and Harrah's was supposed to host one in 2004, but it never happened for some reason. What is now the Westport Doubletree hosted a car show once, so that might work, and for a while the MH COC hosted a chilli cookoff for the NKF at Westport Plaza. Again, just some ideas if you need places. Good luck!

This site happens to be three blocks from my house so I am very familar with it.
There are various reasons none of the sites you mentioned worked for us.

Understood. I think the most important thing is that you found a site. I'm sure you've put a lot more thought and effort into this than I have, so I'm glad it looks like things will work out. Good luck and have fun! Just for giggles though, I thought about Grant's Farm after my last eMail...wouldn't that be cool?

it really would be....wonder if InBev would be up for that

When I worked for SeaWorld, after Inbev, before Blackstone, they were hosting BBQ events at the parks. Regardless, I'm pretty sure Auggie retained ownership of Grant's Farm after the buyout. BBQ, Elephants, and Clydesdales!

Its semi official. Just waiting on KCBS approval now!
May 10-12.The only other things going on that weekend is a contest in Columbia, Mo. There is no Sam's club. I dont think there is a Kingsford contest that weekend either. So everything looks clear :)

The contest will be held at the James J Eagan Civic Center in Florissant, Mo. If you want to check out the site - look at google maps with this address:
1 James J Eagan Drive, Florissant, MO 63033

It looks like most of the spots will be on the parking lot - a few in the grass.
We will be having the judging inside. Since the teams will be there for two days and pretty smelly, we have been given access to the showers. Not sure on the pool yet. Most likely be able to use the pool tables and ping pong too.

The site is three blocks from my house - so it works out great for me too. :)

We dont have all of the details yet but we are getting there. I should have the entry form ready on Sunday afternoon.
We will be looking at signing up judges soon too.

I think the contest at Columbia Elks is the first weekend in May
