Saw some cheap tri tip at the store today, so I decided to do a quick cook tonight for just me and the boys.

First I rubbed it down:

Then I smoked it at about 240.

It actually got away from me a little and I cooked it longer than I wanted. Here's it at 140 when I pulled it off:ImageUploadedByTapatalk1311224984.670857.jpg

Then to the Genesis for a quick reverse sear. Thank you GrillGrates!

Final temp was 145, a bit more done than I like it, but it was still tender and juicy. The boys couldn't get enough. Kept it very simple with steamed broccoli and left-over slider bun as a dinner roll.

Looks awesome!! I gotta take the next step and try some tri tip and brisket.

Very nice. I want to do Tritip on the WSM. How long was it on the WSM?
It was on for 52 min (I habitually set a timer). The weight was just under 2 lbs.

Thermo is an accurate Thermapen (I've tested).

Awesome!:clap2: We have never come across any tri-tip here, wish we could find some.
