Destination America Airs the Kingsford Invitational 3/17

Just set the dvr. Is this a 1 and only show, or is it a series?

It's a single one hour special though the Kingsford Invitational $50k winner-takes-all contest will be back for a second year this year.

Thanks for the heads up Clint!
Got my dvr set as well.

DVR set!

not to start any controversy, but that article says

The only female barbecue champion in the world, Cookston owns and operates Memphis Barbecue Co.

i can think of a few female "champions".. to name a few off the top of my head...

Steph from the Slabs
Danielle - DivaQ
Divaherself from VQ
Dionn Lanton from Holy Smokes

and i know theres more..

wonder what they are using to determine 'champion'? MIM only?

then again..local papers... :)

Melissa has the same Championship ring Myron does. Not sure if it's MBN or KCBS, but they have the National Champion ring...

Hmmm I don't get that channel hope its streamed as well but doubt it.

+1 on that i couldnt imagine what it would be like to not be able to eat pork. I feel for him

Especially for someone who competes in Q. Imagine cooking, seeing, and smelling pork and knowing you cant taste them.

I would like them to focus a little more on the 'how" these guys cook. I know most of them don't want to give away their secret recipes, but get each teams to offer several helpful hints to the home BBQ guy.
