Yeah this should work fine. Don't over tighten it or use the dial to tighten with when you install it though as it will mess with the calibration. If you want even more accuracy, I would suggest getting a good wireless digital thermometer as well. The consensus seams to be that the Maverick ET732 is the best thing out there in digitals. That's the exact model I was looking at that said within 10% accuracy. I guess it's the right one. I ordered it with a 2.5 inch stem for six buck.
