This was the 1st brisket I've done for some time, It was just over 5lbs. I rubbed with beef bullions and rub threw in a 3oo-F smoker, high heat cook which I do from time to time. About 3 hours or so I decided to flip the thing, bad ideal, didn't think so at the time, but bad. The cheap tong twisted with the weight of the brisket. Yup on the ground it went, not happy:mad2: Even washed it off, still not happy:mad2: Trash canned it. It had a nice ring going. I had double pics, maybe this will help. The last pic is what the other side looked like.

I'm very sorry about the brisket. You're right about the smoke ring!

BUT... I'm really confused about one thing. Why were you wearing a thong while cooking brisket? I hope it was a Brethren thong at least! :becky: :becky: :becky: :becky:

Please don't answer Ron's question.....some things are better off left unsaid.

As far as it dropping on the ground....just rinse it off good, and put it back in
the cooker.

We live in a world that is getting too sterile. Not all germs, and such are
bad. Many are good, and are vital to our immune system; for good health.

What you talking about Willis! :noidea::noidea: Good thing for edit :typing: All fixed, good catch:thumb:

Unless, the dog picked it up, ran around the yard with it a couple of times, and came in close distance with scat while handling it... I would have washed it off, finished cooking and ate. Although, I may have had the wife take the first bite. :becky:

I'd a ate that bad boy. As long as your not smoking in the Cats litter box or something. Just tell anyone else to be careful of the Gravel. don't wanna chip a tooth.

I'm with Grillman If you don't exercise your imune system you lose it (like the ability to spel lol)

amen!

I hate it when that happens.
I would have washed good and finished it up. Then told everybody that you did not find all of the "shotgun pellets" when ya cleaned and dressed it. :-D:-D:-D

Im with everyone else, I live by the 3 second rule!!!!!! Wash and re-rub finish and eat!!!!!!

What dosent kill us only makes us stronger!!!!!!!!!!!

In my line of work we have a saying that something is still "Field Sterile" if its only been stepped on twice!!!!!! LOL

I use a pair of insulated (lined) rubber gloves for stuff like that, it makes life a lot easier. I get the ones from Nothern Tool - a couple of bucks per pair when they're on sale.

BoT - It's a shame that you tossed that, looked like it was off to a great start.

I am sorry that this happened to you.
I use the heavy duty tongs as those cheapies twist very very easy.
I think a quick rinse and back on the heat you would have been fine.

I have a 5 second rule! Just wash it off and keep going! Throw some more rub on and who will know???..... Hope the next one goes great don't give up it happens to everyone.

Nobody lookin, nobody knows. Cook it and eat it.:heh::heh:
