The Little Engine that Could BBQ Championship

When: December 10th and 11th - ONE WEEKEND - 2 Contest

Where: Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum 2040 N Santa Fe Dr, Vista, California.

Prize $$ $12,500

The last 2 events of the KCBS points Chase for the 2011 year. You may not win the national points chase here, but many of the Top 25 teams can certainly loose their places (much like it happened in 2010) after the Wildomar contest (and that was only 1 contest, with 2 the unpredictable can happen)

Went to measure the area the Museum is allowing me to use... have room for around 60 teams max. Get your entry forms in, contest may be 4 months away-- but entry forms are making their way in at a fast and furious pace..

20 DAYS LEFT for SUPER EARLY BIRD ENTRY -- Get your Entry forms in.. 10/15/11 by Midnight (fax 951-245-1116), or scanned and e-mail back... If you send it by mail it must be postmarked 10/15/11.. The CBBQA ROY and TOY race is as close as I've ever seen it.. Can't wait to see how it all pans out... Will there be a team with perhaps only 2-3 0r 4 events under their belt (as of now), who surprises at Vista and comes from nowhere? Will the Top 10-20 be turned upside down by someone unexpected? How about that ROY race, Donna is coming, will the others be there to defend their position or watch as she moves to the top of the ROY standings? and this is only for Cali teams.. With national powers on the way for this final weekend of KCBS chase points for the KCBS TOY, Swine Assassins (#2) and others could find their way to the TOP by going back to back at VISTA...Can't wait for this event!

ONLY 10 DAYS LEFT! for Super Early Bird entry fees.. This is the LAST KCBS event of the year and is a DOUBLE event -- one on Saturday, one on Sunday.. Anyone in the Top 25 can get leapped froged by anyone -- 20% of a season's worth of scores up for grabs.. This one ought to be a great field-- at least 3 Top 20 teams are committed and we are still more than 2 months away (I expect no less than 10-15).. don't be left out as there is only room for 60 Teams at this site and entry's are starting to come in at a furious pace... Besides who can beat BBQ'ing 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean in December with annual temp averages in the mid 60's... the other options are to sit in freezing weather clicking on the KCBS website late Saturday night and again on Sunday night watching your hard work from the 2011 KCBS BBQ season go down in flames as 1-2-3 teams pass you without even a waive..... OCTOBER 15th is the last day for SUPER EARLY BIRD Discount.. You can fax 951-245-1116, e-mail or snail mail (must be postmarked by 10/15/11) your entry's - by midnight 10/15/11 to get this special entry fee. See you all in December.

LOOKS like the CBBQA and the KCBS Top 25 rankings for the year could will be turned inside out with 3 top 25 teams (KCBS) and 15 or so CBBQA top 25 teams already signed up or committed to this event.. I expect many more of the top 25 (KCBS) teams to enter this event as our count gets closer to that magical 50 team level, but don't wait too long there is only room for 60 or so teams, and if the entry's keep coming up at the current pace.. we could be sold out in 2-3 weeks... EARLY BIRD RATE of $449 (only $224.50 per contest) for this dual contest weekend is now in effect until November 15th, 2011.... WHO IS NEXT?

3 DAYS LEFT for "EARLY BIRD"... Tuesday November 15th by midnight is deadline, make sure your entries are postmarked (11/15/11) or e-mail or fax them to me by midnight... Lets get to the mid 30's in team count.. Who is Next?

By the way,the folks at Vista are planning a nice potluck dinner for all of you competing, Friday night after cooks meeting, if you want to participate just prepare something for the evening.. more details to follow.

Welcome Aboard Dennis Keck "4 Smokin Butts" from Illinois... Who is Next?

PS- Can someone please help, how do I put this topic under 30 day roll call?

Add Mad Maui BBQ, Master of Disaster (fresh from the Jack), Big Daddy's Q N Crew, and Smoke Hogs to the list... This one is shaping out quite nicely...
