"Spirited Cookin'!"

This was caseydog's winning entry in the 2012 "Cooked with Booze" TD.

peeps said:
Let's do "Spirited Cookin': Not Just for Drinkin'". Alcohol (beer, wine, spirits, etc) must be used as an ingredient during the preparation of your dish as a marinade, sauce, or glaze or similar (not just as a drink in a glass next to your plated shot) for the grilled or smoked item. Entry must include a picture of the bottle/can of what you used and a description of how you used it in the preparation.
Will the special rules madness ever end?

So if I simmer cook thick round steaks in Beer in skillet on my Kettle it's legal? Hmmmm

Awesome!

I was just reading about how boiling ribs in whiskey cured all diseases, or something like that.

Question though.

Do we HAVE to have food with the alcohol? Because I'm on this new diet, see, and I can't afford food after the liquor bill any more...

I think a pot of smoked booze would be fine...your booze, your money. Hot Mad Dog 20/20 doesn't sound very appealing, though.

No booze here, so I'll sit this one out
Dang, sorry, Dave! You could use some "near-beer" maybe? But understood if you're gonna sit it out. Still gotta do a chimney beef cake entry, so you could do that instead

I'm thinking of pumping a Pint of Jack Daniels into a 10 lb Pork Butt then Smoking it over them Whiskey Barrel Chunks while drinking some Angry Orchard........:heh:

Does the bottle of alcohol used have to be in the entry photo, or can it be in a separate photo in the cook thread?
