I'm thinking of starting a bbq retail shop in my bbq joint. Selling sauces, rubs, wood, shirts, hats, any and all (wood) smoking paraphanelia. I'm not sure how to start it up though. any ideas?

Start with a small selection and see if it moves. You can add on from there. A few bottles by the register is a start. And like Big Brother Smoke said check with fellow brethern for items.

A lot of meat markets that I sell product to do this. Seems like BBQ products do well in specialty stores like BBQ joints, meat markets, etc. Usually can call for higher prices on items at the counter and people buy... cause of where it came from.
