Apple wood

A friend at work asked if anybody wanted some apple wood, he helped someone cut down a apple tree. I went over and picked up some, price? nada.

It's now in the barn seasoning. I cut one of the branches into about 1" pucks and used in the UDS to smoke the turkey.

Thanks! I put a tarp on the top. It also is covered with snow.

I got real real lucky last year the guy that checks my electric meter asked if I wanted all the fruit would I could handle. I picked up a load of plum, pear, apple and cherry just for showing him how to do a shoulder on his smoker. Then he said when ya run out back your truck up again and load it up.

Soon it will be time to checking out the orchards for pruning scraps. One of the big advantages of living in the heart of Michigans fruit belt, never have to pay for wood.
