The Salt Lick uses a dirty Dalmatian that is equal parts k-salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. I love that on ribs from time-to-time.

SL rub has a lot of cayenne in it to me but I like hot,where did you hear they use kosher salt? The SL bottle I have you can tell they use table salt I got mine at barbeque galore a while back.
 
Nothing better, kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper... some of the best brisket and ribs I have smoked have nothing but S and P on it... give it a try!!!!:thumb:
 
Just did 4 butts and 2 briskets with Kosher salt and Garlic Pepper. We'll see how they come out.
