Looks like its in pretty good condition, I had trouble finding a comparative price and the going price for the Performers I found was in the 320$ range.

I can get a new brick red for $299. But this does come with the rotisserie and is a SS model. Which makes it cool. Just trying to gauge the field on the price.

highly desirable SS model. I dont know..... Id try to talk him down a bit still.

new now old OTP's are going for 199 online. I know they are different, I just think 250 is a little high especially for it being january

A new one with a rot goes for $464 with tax. So I'm thinking to offer $200.

I would say that's a good offer, maybe throw 220 or 240 if you need to. I try not to lose something you like for 20$. Most people arent looking to buy bbqs in the winter. I am waiting to sell my a/c units until summer.

I see stainless Performers around here regularly for $100 or less. I paid $100 for mine in pristine condition. The rotisserie is around $150 brand new. I would go much above $150 for both unless you really want it.

I was thinking Yeah - Yeah - Yeah - until I got to $250. Nice looking unit, desirable color (though black cooks just as well.) Look at the propane tank and connection and see if you can get that refilled. They originally came with a quick disconnect and you may have difficulty finding a dealer with equipment that can refill it. And it might be out of date and require new valve and/or certification. It looks like the PO has upgraded the 5 pound tank to a 20 pound tank. The 5 pound tank costs about $55. The 20 pound tank might last your natural life. These are things to factor into your offering price. (The new ones come in red too, but it is a darker brick red.)

I'm looking at replacing the burner on mine and that's going to set me back at least $25. But I only paid $50 for mine. (Black and no rotisserie.)

Good luck with negotiations - she's a beaut! :thumb:

A few things:

Reds are awesome
SS Performers are Nice
Reds are awesome
The baskets and roto is a nice touch.
Assuming it is in good shape.....

250 is too high. Too high.

I'd offer less, and then really really hope they took it. Reds are awesome.

$150 should be top dollar for this performer, a roto really does not add anything to your cook its just a gadget waste of money.

It was posted a few months ago too. Too much IMO. $175-$200 tops if the roto is in great shape. Also check every nook and cranny for rust. Point out that the 10 year stamp on the tank is expired and will be $60 to replace and that a new ash sweeper and ring/pot will run you $50. Remember that if the welds on the kettle are rusty you can't get redhead replacement parts anymore. Then offer $150 cash and wave it in his face. He''ll get a fair price and you won't lose any sleep wondering if you overpaid.

Disagree. A roto is very useful and makes juicy birds a snap. Self-basting rotisserie meat is no gimmick. I use mine a ton and can Q like a motherfarker without one too....

Been emailing back and forth. He told me the following to answer some of my questions.

"I replaced the wiper blades", Ah the old one have the nut that is always rusted shut, so how'd ya do dat.....:noidea:

"It's in really good shape for its age".......:twitch:

"I never refilled the tank so not sure if the ignitor works, but it did the last time"....:loco:

"Weber still makes this, but it has a plastic table and they don't have the gas assist anymore. I know becasue my dad had a new one and didn't like it, he sold it. This one is much better because of the SS"......:blah::blah::blah:

So I made them a maximum offer contingent on everything being kosher, up to stuff and in reasonable condition. One thing people never take into account when selling a grill is cleaning. I can't bring something home, fire it up and throw meat on it..........:twitch: It has to be thoroughly cleaned and gone over. then i get the Farker DIRTY..........
