Why did it take me so long to do Beer Can Chicken?

Nice job. I have not cook them that way yet. Will have to try one. I always spatch them.
 
Nice work! Although I've not actually found any benefit to flavour or moisture by doing this, but YMMV! It certainly looks flashy :becky:
 
I will have to try it with Rolling Rock. A Western Pa. staple.
 
Looks nice... i think you have your priorities out of order... you had to have spent more for that little bit of rub than you did for the chicken and the beer! lol
 
Beer can chicken is very easy and is a wonderful dish for cookouts. It's a good conversation piece as well. Most people have never seen one cooked.
 
I have a suggestion for you. The next time you choose to do this, pour the beer in a frosted mug and drink it. Fill up the can with water:grin: There is actually little if any steaming going on during the cook. Next time put a probe in the can. The liquid just serves to keep the can from tipping over.
