Crazing on ceramic grills

The crazing is perfectly normal and I'm pretty sure the water "sweating" out of the ceramic is normal too. I leave my Primo uncovered and get some water coming out of the vent cap if I fire it up right after a really good rain. To be honest though, I can't say I've paid too much attention to something like this. Maybe others with ceramics will chime in.

I've never seen moisture come out, but I keep mine covered. I believe I have read somewhere that what you have described (moisture, not just the crazing) is normal.

Crazing on porcalin ceramic is 100% normal. Think of the glazing as glass. As the kamado warms and cools the glass has to break at points to allow this. Porcalin has a water absorbtion of .5% so small amounts of water coming from the crazing is nothing to worry about. The crazing will get worse over time but it should not impact the performance of the kamado. Porcalin and most low absorbant ceramics are very hardy. The only thing I would worry about but this for for any ceramic kamado is cold incontact with the hot. Or sharp bumps.
