I think the MEATER 2 plus launched today. Based of the “influencer” reviews that hit YouTube today it’s a pretty good upgrade to my current MEATER so I ordered one. I’ll post a review once it arrives and I actually try it out. Hopefully the influencers tested this more stringently than the Smokefire.

I'd like to see the sensors spread out through the whole stick, not just the last inch or two; seems too close to me for what it's trying to accomplish.

I still want a wireless multi-probe sensor that connects to wifi, so if they come out with a meater 2 block, I might have to try one...after a year or so when the bugs are worked out.

This was asked in the comment section on their release video yesterday. The response from Meater is that the block version will come out in 2024.

I generally make one thing at a time, so I don’t need a block. I keep an old iPhone by the grill as a Wi-Fi relay.

My question is if I can use my old Meater and this new Meater at the same time in the app if I’m cooking two items.

I'll be interested in hearing what the new one does.

I got the current MEATER block...and aside from headaches of hooking it to my network...(Had to get escalated support on the line, they had me change router settings)....it has worked great through my 3/8" still BS Smoker....and can monitor on phone, iPad or Apple Watch.

I'd not heard they had a new one, so, interested to see what's different.

related - I see thermopro has their version of the meater called the spike... has anyone used that and can compare??

I can’t imagine going back to Meater after using Combustion’s wireless probe.

Never heard of them until reading this post. I just watched the video on the Combustion temp probes and they look impressive. I have the Meater block and was interested in getting the Meater 2 plus, but now I don't know. Thanks for mentioning these.

I ordered a ChefsTemp Pro on Kickstarter a while back. Curious to see if it'll be any good. https://www.chefstemp.com/product/protemp-plus/

Still some delays, supposed to start shipping soon:

Hello to all our incredible backers,

We apologize for the delay in providing an update as promised. We are currently conducting thorough probe testing to ensure the product meets our high standards. The adhesive qualities are being meticulously evaluated to ensure durability and reliability. While this process has taken longer than expected, we refuse to compromise on quality. We now aim to start mass production on November 10th, with delivery expected by December 10th. We appreciate your support and will continue to keep you informed.

Thank you for your patience and belief in ChefsTemp.

The Meater 2 Plus arrived today, The one thing I did confirm is that I can use my old Meater Plus and the Meater 2 at the same time. See photo below.

I plan to rotisserie a bird or something this weekend to try it out.

I hope the finish temperature is more accurate than my old Meater Plus. When I first bought it for thanksgiving 2021 the finish temp was always a degree or two from the set point. After an upgrade a year or so ago the finish temp is always three to five degrees above the set point. I usually set it a few degrees low to compensate.
