"Eat with your hands" to me, means without utensils. Corn dogs come on sticks. The stick is a utensil.
BTW, did you see the sticks in the food that is in the Throw Down picture at the top of this page?:-D
 
Boy, that is a technical consideration if ever there was one. Structural reinforcement or utensil?

If the food item is cooked with the stick in it, it's structural reinforcement. If it's added after cooking it's a utensil.

I'm cooking a ribeye on a stick. The first steaksicle
