Full Fledged Farker
I did this last week with Roxy's rib glaze and liked it, so it needed more experimenting.
This week, I bumped up the bourbon and honey.
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup BBQ sauce (Big Ron's)
1/4 cup apple juice
1/8 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup bourbon
It was a nice, sunny evening with blue skies. perfect weather for smokin!
I stomped thru the 8 inches of snow to fire up the 15 degree UDS and got to work.
The coals were ready in about a minute and the drum was warmed up (with a little help) in another minute.
I rubbed them with 50/50 seasoned salt and Big Ron's HOH and smoked over mesquite.
I dipped each piece in the glaze twice (10 mins apart) and basted them 3 times (about 5 mins apart)
When the sun went down, the temp dropped like a rock. Here's one for the website Ron!
I basted it with a thin layer of Big Rons and took them off the grill after about 8 mins
This was a home run. I have a new way to cook chicken
