I got this from my stepfather last night. He loves it, says its a lot better than RO but I can't get it up to temp for my brisket this morning.

The lumps seem to be more dense than RO which should help it last longer.
Here's my brisket just waiting to go into the sauna.

And if I get some time, which I doubt I have this drum with a shot of clear on it waiting for its transformation.

To add to the challenge it started raining a little before noon at a pretty steady clip for about 30 minutes. Bedsides how slow the lump got up to temp its rocking now. Got a sheet of plywood over the drum to keep so rain out. Mid 260's and holding so finger crossed it maintains since the little one has a party. I won't be home till after 3 so I'm leaving all the faith I'm my drum

Wicked Good makes great charcoal. I am lucky to have one of the few distributors in Texas relatively close to my house, but it is not cheap. Enjoy

The finished product. Took a long time to get up to the 265-280* range but it held for 6.5 hours! Very nice product. Here it sits for a few minutes.

Nice Looking Pron!! I'm a huge fan of the WG lump its the only thing I use unless I run out and the Charcoal man is out of town. I was giving a bag of there briquettes to try. Hope they are as good as the Lump!!

I checked the basket after 12 hours of 265* smoking and there is still a healthy amount of lump left. Not bad for fighting wind and rain all day.
Nice smoke ring too

What coating do you have on the drum and are you going to leave it that way or paint it? Brisket looks awesome.

And if I get some time, which I doubt I have this drum with a shot of clear on it waiting for its transformation.

^^^ the drum was almost brand new when I got it, just minor surface rust. I used CLR to Remove the rust, than an all metal polish to clean up the rest and followed by a coat of high temp clear from menards. I really like the way it looks, one more coat of clear and it's ready to build. I've got 2 I need to build this week! I'm gonna try to make a tutorial for the mini.
