So close and yet so far away. That was both the most excited and the most dissapointed we've been yet. Our brisket has been our strongest showing all season until we needed it! :blah:


Oh well.

Pretty cool contest! It was our first time there. We may just have to come back next year!

Great job.Our hearts were probably pounding as hard as yours during the brisket calls. Very tough competition there. See you in a couple weeks.
 
Good meeting you Wampus, you and Jim had a great showing. How did you end up running that guy off that was inebriated that wandering into camp?

Jimmy gave me crap about that on the drive home. Said it was my fault for being friendly to the guy when he walked up to the pit. If I'd only known! :blah:


I think when we mentioned 5 or 6 times that it was time to hit the sack he got the hint. :becky:

I'll see you in Xenia Jim. Might have Lam and the baby drive over for that Saturday if the weather is decent.
 
It would be great to see Lam and the little one. Who knows, maybe we'll even see you before then. We need to sit down some time and talk about guns.

I've just arrived from cattle call and this event in Kettering was my first compatition. I'm a member of Dirty Birds BBQ and I look forward to meeting you. I was very happy with my teams performance. We practiced hard and everything went smoothly. Too bad I didn't find the forum last week I would have liked to meet you all. I've been on Smoking meat forum since 2007.
