A Pretty Good BBQ 2009

See Bubba, I told you Roger was a nice guy but you wouldn't believe me! :)

Scott

Roger is an awesome fella and I would be honored to meet all the brethren folks who volunteer to help Kurt and the church out.

You know Scott..... Bull is just saying that so I get between him and Billy and he dont have to have his pic taken with Billy dropping his pants. Or he wants some more chili. Bull you guys made the bash looking forward to this years.

Thanks Roger, hope we can make it down there for this event too, a great cause and surely a great time to be had. I'm not sure BIlly could get too close to this event, I'd be afraid if I were him of getting hit by lightning or something since its so close to a church!!

We could chip in and buy him a pair of suspenders. Hes use to being shocked so lighting might make him happy

Sorry for the delayed response here.
Havent been on the computer lately.

Anyways, Curt, you know I'll be there with Tilly.

I know that I can get 80 lbs of butt on 2 shelves
with 2 shelves left over.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

It'll be really nice to be all in one spot this year.

Just a though Curt, any chance of a Port-a-John for when we have
to lock the church overnight?

I'll look into the porta john thing... But I'm going to have the key this year, I think. Of course, if I'm asleep, you may not get in! :)

I've been away quite a bit recently due to some personal issues, but count me in. Will be glad to help anyway I can, and may even drag FrankenWeber out for another go! She made up a good brisket last year!

Curt,
Umm, you have to lock the church at night?
Do you have to circle the cookers too? :)

This isn't in the best part of Dayton, which is to say... We should be safe, but the doors being opened at night at the church would potentially lead to bad things.

We had a few interesting characters last year, but no problems, other than the cops coming to take care of one guy that wasn't dangerous, just dangerously inebriated.

So a couple of us will have keys to get in and out of the church as needed.

and just to let you all know, the pastors approached me this year asking if we were doing this again. Last year, I went to them to talk them into it. It was really well received last year, and will likely become an annual event. In this area, it's a great way to open up the season, with the first of the warmer weather hopefully being there, and an easy way to let a lot of people serve a whole lot more people.

One thing I love about the group of yahoos on here is that, whether Christian or not, there's a sense of serving and giving back. That's a very good thing.

Well if i can make it this year and you keep those eye open you will eat good durning the night.

Probably for a little bit... But not too long.

I think everyone but Neil and I slept some last year. We toughed it out and stayed up the whole night, though.

If'n Roger is making his chili to eat during the night, we best have access to the terlit.

Scott
