Anyone considered hanging ribs in an 18" WSM.

So I've been thinking - I can't fit full racks on WSM without bending them...but could I hang them somehow from the top rack? Or maybe there's a round apparatus that fits where the top grate goes that you could hang ribs from. Hmm...maybe this could be my invention that maks me my first million... :grin:

It does not hurt to bend them. You can also take a some small SS bowls, turn them upside down and lay the racks over to create a hump. Using 4 bowls on both grills, you can load 4 racks of ribs.

Showing my ignorance

What exactly is an ss bowl? I realize it doesn't hurt to bend them. I'm just looking for a way to fit more racks in my WSM. I'm actually regretting not getting the bigger WSM because of it. My design idea is actually quite simple. I'll try to mock something up (drawing) and post it on here to see what y'all think.

I can fit 3 racks of spares on an 18" using a rib rack, might be able to do more.

I don't think the 18 WSM body is tall enough to hang ribs. You'll have to rig an elevated hanger out of rebar or whatever.
